One of my favorite parts of this job is receiving music from artists I’ve never heard of. Macifif and Zaena are two names unfamiliar to me, but their song “See You Again” is definitely going to be on repeat for me over the weekend.
It’s even better when the song is as amazing as this one, bringing back strong feelings of nostalgia from 2012-2013 and the heyday of melodic dub. Those soft female vocals against sultry and deep bass notes… it sends chills down my spine. The early days of Seven Lions, Illenium, Adventure Club, Blackmill, all of the artists who really made melodic dub what it is today, I can hear all of them in “See You Again.”
