Eastbourne Police have issued a warning about 100% pure cocaine that has potentially killed 2 people since April and led to multiple overdoses.
Detective Inspector Neil Ralph said, “Taking drugs in any form is dangerous particularly when the user does not know the purity of the drug.” But, the “bad batch” of pure cocaine isn’t the only issue, as the UK is also experiencing a spike in potency levels of heroin and molly for example.
Drugs were responsible for over 3,600 deaths in the U.K. in 2015 and research suggests age of user is also a key factor in these record levels, according to Complex.
The only way to be safe is to not do drugs at all. But, if you must, educate yourself on potency levels and be careful out there.
