It’s been over four years since Swedish House Mafia officially disbanded following their performance at Ultra 2013 but their legacy certainly lives on. There’s been plenty of discussion about a potential reunion tour, and while that may or may not happen (depending on who you talk to) it’s certainly been a long-running discussion among dance music fans for well over a year now.
Yesterday, one of their most beloved songs ‘Save the World’ with vocalist John Martin officially turned six years old. If you were a fan of progressive house fan back in the early 2010s you’ll definitely have memories of hearing this massive tune at pretty much every festival you went to.
In fact, the song was such a hit that it even made it onto to the Billboard US Pop Songs chart peaking at #35 and topping the Hot Dance Club songs in addition to selling over 463,000 copies in the states. Elsewhere in the U.K. it did even better climbing to #10 on their singles chart and achieving silver certification with upwards of 200,000 units sold. The song was also nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 54th annual GRAMMY Awards.
