This just in: The Weeknd has just joined one of the most exclusive clubs on the planet – the 1 billion YouTube views on a single video mark. The official music video for “Starboy” featuring Daft Punk has crossed the 1,025,000,000 mark adding yet another achievement to what’s starting to become a long list for the single.

It peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 achieving 4x Platinum with over 1.3 million units sold in the US in addition to Platinum and Diamond level certifications in Australia (4x Platinum), Belgium (2x Platinum), Brazil (2x Platinum), Canada (3x Platinum), Denmark (Platinum), France (Diamond), Germany (Platinum), Italy (2x Platinum), New Zealand (2x Platinum), Norway (3x Platinum), Spain (Platinum), Sweden (4x Platinum), and Platinum once again the United Kingdom. Don’t forget the whole host of Billboard Music Awards it also pulled in the other week and you can probably count on both the album and single scoring some GRAMMY nominations later this year as well.

The video is currently #58 on the most watched videos of all time list and it is Daft Punk’s first ever record to hit 1 billion YouTube views.
