As any bass music fan can tell you, Lookas is an absolute staple in the trap and hybrid space. The Miami based producer has had festival hit after hit since he started releasing 4 years ago. With heaters such as “Game Over” with Crankdat, and more emotional songs such as “Apollo,” and was a producer on Flo Rida’s “G.D.F.R.,” which peaked at number 8 on the Billboard charts, selling 4 million copies.
His most recent release, “Can’t Get Enough” has been heard by millions across the world in plenty of festival sets, and has amassed over 2 million streams on Spotify.
The remix treatment done by Carbin and MILZ & DRYXO provides a great service to the original track.
Carbin takes the remix a whole different direction, while still maintaining an energy that’s similar to the original’s. Making good use of the synthesis in the original, Carbin takes us for a ride with pitching synths, banging drums, and proper vocal sampling.
MILZ & DRYXO offer something geared towards the dub heads; a hybrid remix packed with energy. Taking call and response phrasing to its fullest potential, the two emerging bass producers combine a slew of both trappy and dubby sounds.
Included in the download of the pack is also a mashup made by Hardwell himself, which he’s played in several sets across the globe. Making great use of the legendary (and now meme), “Darude – Sandstorm,” the mashup provides an anthemic festival ready tool for DJ’s that will see plenty of play in the future as well.
Lookas is currently wrapping up his debut EP, expected to release this summer. Featured on the EP are none other than Krewella, and Cal from Timeflies. Additionally, Lookas is playing HARD Summer this year! This comes as good news for his fans as he’s been quite quiet since the release of “Can’t Get Enough”.
