According to FACT, the company is planning on launching a new, “category-defining” hardware device — think Pebble Watch, Amazon Echo, Snap Spectacles, etc. The info was originally spotted in a Spotify job listing, and pointed out by Zats Not Funny.
“Above all, your work will affect the way the world experiences music & talk content,” is perhaps the most enlightening statement from the job posting.
Are we looking the beginnings of an iPod shuffle-like device that runs Spotify software and voice recognition? A technologically advanced, voice activated speaker? A wearable mini-computer that keeps all your playlists at your beck and call?
Whatever the new Spotify device may be, it will be interesting to see the realization of these developments.
