Yes, you read that correctly. There now exists a trap remix of the iPhone ringtone, on one of the biggest YouTube music curators Trap City no less, that’s actually pretty damn good. Produced by 16-year-old producer jaydon lewis, “iPhone Ringtone Trap Remix” is probably one of the more interesting things I’ve heard all week.
The first “ring” is the recognizable tune that I’m sure everybody that’s reading this has heard before. As the ringtone progresses, jaydon layers the ‘instrumental’ with a bouncing bass line, textured percussion, and ‘aye’ vocal samples sprinkled throughout to turn this once simple ringtone into a full two-minute long remix that’s not half bad.
