In honor of April 20 – known to marijuana users simply as “4/20” – quickly approaching, funk-master GRiZ has just released a playlist of some of his favorite tracks to listen to while smoking. The annual holiday, celebrated globally by getting high and commemorating weed culture, comes this Thursday.
GRiZ’s relationship with marijuana has never been kept a secret. In 2015, he created his own strain and entered it the Cannabis Cup. “GRiZ Kush,” as it was named, even placed second in the competition.
His 4/20 playlist this year, “Smoke some Music, Listen to this Weed…,” features laid back and marijuana-inspired tracks from himself and fellow musicians across the scene. Sunsquabi, Cypress Hill, A Tribe Called Quest, Goldlink, Thundercat, Kendrick Lamar and more all make an appearance on the appropriately numbered 42-track list.
