Even though The Chainsmokers‘ debut album Memories… Do Not Open isn’t exactly getting rave reviews (especially from us), it’s still topping the charts — proving their popularity is king.
The EDM-pop duo has managed to reach #1 on the Billboard Hot 200 Chart after selling 221,000 equivalent album units, including 166,000 worth of traditional album sales. Along with their loyal fanbase, The Chainsmokers can attribute some of that success to the concert ticket/album bundle sale they ran to promote their upcoming arena tour and Las Vegas residencies.
Aside from everything critical that can be said about the album, it still features at least a few successful singles: “Paris,” “Something Just Like This” featuring Coldplay, and “The One.”
From the looks of their Twitter account, it seems The Chainsmokers are brushing off the haters and loving every moment of their time at the top! Congrats!
