The Chainsmokers Have Spent A Record 49 Weeks In The Billboard Top 10

Yep, you guessed it – this is another Chainsmokers post about breaking another record. This time, they’ve topped the Billboard charts for most weeks in the top 10 for a group/duo.

The group’s collaboration with Coldplay , “Something Just Like This,” is currently #5 on the chart, while their single “Paris” is #9. “Closer” spent the most weeks in the chart of their singles, bringing the total up to 49 weeks in the top 10, toppling the previous record set by Ace of Base in the early ’90s.

They only need two more weeks to tie Drake for most weeks by an artist overall in the top 10. If they can then make it an additional 18 weeks, which, judging by the sales of their album and its singles, is actually somewhat likely, then they’ll also topple the all time record set by Katy Perry.

Weeks in the Top 10:

69 weeks, Katy Perry, 2010-11
51 weeks, Drake, 2015-16
49 weeks, The Chainsmokers, 2016-17
48 weeks, Ace of Base, 1993-94
46 weeks, Rihanna, 2010-11

Additionally, The Chainsmokers have also hit #1 on iTunes for their new album Memories… Do Not Open, despite a bevy of negative reviews from media outlets. It seems their core fanbase can’t help but eat it up.
