One of dubstep’s most prolific figureheads has just dropped a massive EP and announced a full US tour. Bear Grillz first exploded on the scene as an anonymous masked DJ with some absurdly filthy dubstep beats. After a very climatic persona reveal on Jerry Spring last year, he’s been in the studio wrapping up a new batch of bass-heavy slammers and putting together a full length US tour, properly titled The Void Tour.
His brand new EP, This Is Your Brain On Dubstep, just dropped to massive anticipation, featuring the bassier title track “Brain On Dub”, which plays on the words of an old anti drug ad from the 90’s, and “Honey Drop”, which features a collaboration with Kompany and features the vocal work of Sam King. “Long Run” takes listeners to a more melodic verse before sending you into a raging inferno of sound. The favorite of the EP would have to be “Rage”, arguably the heaviest track of the EP and a collaborative effort with live act, Sullivan King, who’s mesmerizing guitar riffs and shredding skills while at the decks have caught the attention of musicians worldwide.
