Facebook just made another attempt to be Snapchat, with its latest feature called “Facebook Camera.”
Photos, videos, stories, and effects that can be shared, but disappear within 24-hours mimic the exact ideology behind Snapchat’s interface. The new in-app Facebook camera offers just that with accompanying filters that allow you to add flair to your Facebook Stories.
The social media king says, “We think it’ll give everyone more ways to express themselves and share what they’re up to.” Also, “The Instagram community has shown us that it can be fun to share things that disappear after a day,” Facebook said (no mention of Snapchat whatsoever).
This is a step from “Messenger Day,” as the technology is integrated directly with the app’s camera.
If you want a virtual mustache or cat ears it’s cool… But, do you think this is a necessary feature for Facebook to offer its users?
