Exactly one year ago today, Avicii shocked the DJing community by announcing that he would be retiring from touring. His health issues had long been known, but this announcement still came as a surprise to the majority of people in the community, especially the fans.
His absence has been felt on main stages and Ibiza residencies over the past year, if nothing else. However, it’s good to know that he hasn’t stopped producing, and will likely be coming out with a new album this year. He’s already been teasing studio sessions via Instagram live and on Facebook, and each new piece of the puzzle gets us more and more excited for what’s to come.
