Say Hello To V-MODA’s Crossfade 2 Wireless Headphones

V-MODA has been locked in research and development, and the new iteration of their flagship wireless headphone is nothing less than incredible. Say hello to longer battery life, more versatility, and even more sculpted audio with the Crossfade 2 Wireless.

Announced today, March 28th, the Crossfade 2 Wireless boasts a 15% larger battery to offer 14+ hours of playback on a single charge, and bluetooth capability that supports connectivity with two devices simultaneously up to 33 feet. V-MODA’s beloved CliqFold mechanism has also been included for enhanced portability, a feature painfully lacking on the first Crossfade Wireless.

Additionally, the Crossfade 2 Wireless is compatible with V-MODA’s entire range of accessories, from customized 3D printed shields to the BoomPro Mic for gaming (though there’s a built-in mic on the right ear cup, and another in the included SpeakEasy cable). Starting at $330, these glorious headphones are currently available in three colorways: Matte Black, Matte White, and Rose Gold.

Also, resulting from popular demand, the new model even comes with redesigned ear cushions for a better fit right out of the box. CEO Val Kolton spent months searching for the right foam for the improved ear cups, and both the shape and material are honed to the unique specs of the headphone for the best sound experience possible. After all, the “fit is the sound.”

After V-MODA partnered with Japan’s Roland on 808 Day (August 8th) last year, the two have set on a mission to redefine and develop the next breakthrough in music products. As a result, they’ve also taken the famed sound profile of the M-100, and sculpted it ever-so-slightly to offer more accurate replication as both “instrument engineer and artist intended.” To preserve sound quality, these headphones opt for passive noise isolation to create a pure 3D soundstage, allowing the patent-pending 50mm dual-diaphragm drivers and CCAW coils to shine.

And true to V-MODA fashion, the Crossfade 2 Wireless is tuned for analog use first, resulting in an improved bluetooth experience right off the bat. Unlike other wireless headphones, these beasts can be used with the included mil-spec cord, which shuts down the interior electronics for zero-latency analog experience, essentially turns these into an improved version of their flagship M-100 headphones. Not to mention, you can use the VAMP amplifier in the V-MODA Remix Speaker to get the most out of their 32 ohm impedance.

The improved frequency response of its analog mode is so good in fact, that V-MODA is urging DJs to begin using the Crossfade 2 Wireless in wired mode during performances. Of course, being Hi-Res Standard certified by the Japan Audio Society doesn’t hurt either…

If that sounds alright, but you want the best of the best, and are looking for a headphone with Qualcomm’s aptX codec, V-MODA packed the technology into the Rose Gold version for near CD-quality sound. Head to V-MODA.com for more information.
