Slips & Slurs, Holly – Turmoil [Monstercat]

After a straight year of almost nothing but brostep, Slips & Slurs is back in the trap once again. Though he was originally recognized for his contributions to the genre, Slippy hit it big in the dubstep market in 2016 with the release of his hard-hitting “WiFi Tears,” which received heavy support from Excision, among other bass music DJs. With Mihka! nowhere to be seen, Slips has brought along another friend – the promising Portuguese hybrid producer Holly – for his latest and greatest Monstercat release.

“Turmoil” is everything we could have hoped for in Slippy’s grand return to trap. Utilizing his newfound skills in dubstep production, Slips & Slurs has crafted an exceptional work of hybrid trap. With its booming bass, clever vocal chops and metallic second drop, the song can be compared with some of NGHTMRE‘s best, maybe even “Street” status. It is more than evident that Holly & Slippy make for a killer combination, and we hope to see them back together in the near future for more eargasmic material.
