Deadmau5 Releases 2 New Songs Just Days Before Lots of Shows Tour [LISTEN]

Deadmau5 has been absolutely spoiling us with new music…

Over the past few months he’s dropped W:/2016ALBUM/, then stuff i used to do, and now we’re getting to hear 2 very different, almost polarizing songs from We Are Friends Vol. 6.

“Bad at Titles,” a collaboration with ATTLAS, walks on the darker side of the Deadmau5 sound. It opens with an empty beat and subtle drones, like a void that needs filled. The track picks up around 2 minutes and progresses into a complex piece of work, with varying treatments of the meat and bones you hear throughout.

“Polaris” sounds more like what we’ve come to expect from Deadmau5 — but with an extra uplifting, almost heavenly twist. This one might sound familiar, as Deadmau5 has been known to intro his sets with this song.

The man behind the mau5 head, Joel Zimmerman explained his Lots of Shows tour will involve digging up a lot of old stuff, new stuff, and in-between stuff, to figure out what fits and doesn’t fit for a fluid show.

It will be interesting to see how he blends in pieces like this into his set! Listen below, and catch Deadmau5 on his Lots of Shows tour, which kicks off this week!
