Lollapalooza’s annual festival installment arrives in Chicago on August 3 at the city’s historic Grant Park, bringing with it an all-star lineup of acts from all across the spectrum. Even though the event’s complete roster is set to be revealed on Wednesday morning, insider sources close to the festival have just contacted Consequence of Sound with what they claim will be several of the headliners.
On the alleged list are Arcade Fire, Muse, The Weeknd and Chance the Rapper.
All four acts have performed at previous Lollas, some as headliners and others lower on the bill. For Chance the Rapper, if the sources prove to be correct, his 2017 performance will likely come as the most significant in his career. Following up on his highly acclaimed Coloring Book album release in 2016, his presence at one of his hometown’s most noteworthy festival is likely to attract a heavily substantial crowd.
As for The Weeknd, his immensely publicized collaboration with legendary electronic duo Daft Punk, alongside the release of his own album Starboy, are likely the chief contributing factors in his return. The last time The Weeknd headlined the Chicago festival was in 2015, when he shared the top billing with Paul McCartney, Metallica, Florence + The Machine and more.
Whether or not the tips are true will be revealed tomorrow, Wednesday, at 6 a.m. CT.
