Petition Emerges For Martin Garrix To Release Ed Sheeran Collab

During Martin Garrix‘s performances at Ultra Music Festival in 2015 and 2016, different versions of a yet to be released collaboration with singer Ed Sheeran were premiered to the frantic excitement of the two’s impressive fan bases. Featuring an instantly catchy hook and infectious lyrics, “Rewind Repeat It” has retained its potential for widespread popularity despite never being officially released.

According to Garrix, however, the reason for the delay has come from disagreements between his and Sheeran’s labels, STMPD RCRDS and Atlantic Records, respectively. In an interview held with radio hosts in his home country of the Netherlands, Garrix explained that he doesn’t think the song will ever see the light.

“It’s all label issues and a lot of headaches. It was going to be an official track, so we postponed all my other singles, but the label delayed the track because they wanted to release other tracks from Ed first. At one point, it was two years ago, I didn’t release a radio single for five, six months. So, then you get annoyed. So, I don’t think we’re ever going to release the track.”

Now, nearly two years since the song was first teased at Ultra 2015, a fan-made petition has emerged that urges the two to finally release the song on everyone’s mind. With Ultra’s 2017 installment arriving in less than two weeks, along with Garrix’s inevitable main stage performance, the timing feels right to push for an official “Rewind Repeat It” release.

“This is now down to the fate of the fans wanting the song to be released; if we show enough love surely there could be a possible chance! (No promises!)”
