OKEECHOBEE – Arrests at Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival are down from last year — 21 total over the weekend, compared to 65 last year.
Along with those numbers, the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office, released a list of confiscated drugs and related paraphernalia.
6 pounds hydroponic marijuana
2 pounds of edible marijuana goods, such as cookies and brownies
200 pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes
150 hits of LSD
100 hits of Ecstasy
57 nitrous oxide whippets
50 capsules of Molly
30 LSD dip cigarettes
25 marijuana candies like gummy bears
14 g of cocaine HCl
12 g of meth
10 g of liquid LSD
10 g of powder mollies
Five sets of digital scales
1 1/2 ounce mushrooms
1 ounce of marijuana resin
Various prescription medication such as Xanax and oxycodone
Amnesty boxes made available near festival grounds likely helped many people avoid drug-related charges.
Sheriff Noel Stephen addressed these arrests Friday: “We welcome anyone that travels to Okeechobee for the music fest and encourage them to enjoy the festival. However, we will do all we can to eliminate as many drugs coming into Okeechobee County. With the help of assisting agencies, the weekend searches resulted in a large amount of narcotics taken off the streets.”
