After recently releasing a sensational hit, PLS&TY set out on his ‘Good Vibes’ Tour. The last stop of the tour is at the SXSW showcase Get Buzzzed, a phenomenal showcase hosted by Beautiful Buzzz, We The Beat, and Closed Sessions. PLS&TY will be playing alongside some of electronic music’s hottest up and coming and underground producers. We wanted to catch up with PLS&TY and talk about his upcoming SXSW debut and hear how his tour has been thus far.
You’re going out with a bang ending phase one of the tour at SXSW! How are you feeling about playing there?
Yes, ending Phase 1 of the ‘Good Vibes’ tour on a high note at SXSW! I’m very excited to perform in Austin for the first time!
Have you been to SXSW before?
This will be my first year attending SXSW, and my first time performing in Austin. I am very excited and grateful to be invited this year as an official showcasing artist, having access to all that SXSW offers.
How did you get picked for this show?
Erin from Beautiful Buzzz has been supporting the PLS&TY project since its inception. Nathan & Matt from Closed Sessions set up the first PLS&TY Washington D.C. and Brooklyn performances. After discovering that Beautiful Buzzz would be partnering with Closed Sessions for the showcase, we could not wait to get involved.
Who are you most excited to see on the Get Buzzzed lineup?
I am most excited to finally meet QUIX (& maybe finally finish our collaboration). I also can’t wait to reunite with Crywolf, after having just recently performed at three shows with him across Colorado & Utah.
Can people expect some new music from you at your set at Get Buzzzed?
I may certainly tease some new material!
What was the inspiration behind “Good Vibes”?
“Good Vibes” was inspired by an incredibly busy and stressful week. The song resulted from a desire to break away from these pressures and create purely for enjoyment.
“Good Vibes” has been tremendously successful. Describe how this feels.
The success of “Good Vibes” has been a dream come true. The song has received unbelievable support in all shapes and forms, topping the Hype Machine charts for my tenth #1 ranking track. I can’t say TY enough to everyone listening.
How was it to work with Cosmos & Creature?
Brandyn Burnette & Molly Moore, collectively Cosmos & Creature, are two of the most talented people that I’ve come across in this industry! It was really incredible to work with them on “Good Vibes”, and we may have a couple surprises coming soon in regards to this track. Stay tuned.
