Coachella subtly added UK rap/grime producer Skepta to the 2017 lineup. He joins a slew of other hip hop acts including Kendrick Lamar, Future, Gucci Mane, ScHoolboy Q, and Travis Scott.
This comes after Beyoncé stepped down from her headlining spot, and Lady Gaga was announced as a replacement.
If you haven’t heard his stuff, his latest work Konnichiwa (which beat out David Bowie and Radiohead for the 2016 Mercury Prize) would be a good start. Skepta was originally booked to perform at last year’s festival, but had to cancel due to VISA issues.
Coachella goes down April 14-16 and 21-23, and Skepta’s performance will definitely be one to look out for.
