Kygo Announces Wynn Residency In Las Vegas

The tropical house sensation turned piano man has taken another big step in his career. Announcing a Vegas Residency is a milestone many artists strive to achieve. It validates the artist’s work while offering them an opportunity to prove their music to be timeless. Kygo has been at the forefront of many people’s minds recently and this residency is a hat tip from some of the top tastemakers to showcase his talents.

Kygo has been instrumental to the sudden rise in pop inspired electronic music. His tropical house influences can be heard scattered throughout many top 40 tracks, such as Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You”. Some critique has come with the release of Ed Sheeran’s recent ‘÷’ album, namely that “Shape of You” sounds much like Sia’s hit “The Greatest”. However, Sheeran credits Kygo for the marimba inspired leads found in “Shape of You” and “The Greatest”. You can see what he had to say about the topic in the picture below:

It would appear that it was widely accepted in the industry that Kygo has had his hand in influencing the direction of many pop hits these days. His year-long Wynn residency is the culmination of his influential success. From what we can tell from the video, Kygo will be taking a step back from the decks and showing us his skills on the keys.
