Mad Decent India Tour Cancelled, Fans Not Pleased With Organizers

Back in January, Indian production company Oji revealed it would be hosting a three-city Mad Decent tour in March featuring performances by Major Lazer, Dillon Francis and more in Mumbai, New Delhi and Hyderabad. Because the series’ 2016 Delhi installment was cancelled, in part, due to the Jat protests in the area, fans set their hopes high that 2017 would run without a hitch. Unfortunately, Oji disappointed the attendees once again Saturday as they announced a full cancellation of all three Mad Decent performances in March.

In a Facebook post written early Saturday morning, event organizer Oji revealed that they would be unable to host the MDBP series “in the exact style with which we envisioned.” Whether the ultimate decision to scrap the series involved disagreements between Oji and Mad Decent, or if it was due to conflict among city officials or police, is not known. Regardless, Oji assured fans who already purchased tickets that they would be refunded in full beginning Monday.

Prospective attendees took to the post’s comment section in droves to condemn Oji for cancelling MDBP a second time, many of the posts urging fellow fans to boycott the company’s events in the future. The region already witnessed cancellations from David Guetta and Eric Prydz earlier in 2017.
