After what has felt like eons of waiting, Flume‘s official follow up to his Skin Companion EP has finally released on Spotify for all to listen to. Complete with four brand new tracks, the Skin Companion EP II collection serves as the final installment of Skin-related material to come out of the Flume camp – as far as we know.
The EP features vocal accompaniment from Pusha T, Moses Sumney and Dave Glass Animals, each of them successfully blending their own unique styles with the brooding and thunderous production from Flume. Unlike many of the tracks on the main EP release, these represent a more experimental and radio-unfriendly side to his production spectrum.
The result is a nostalgic trip through the “good old days” of Flume beatmaking work, combined with a brand new aesthetic and emotional backbone to explore.
