Sony is a powerhouse of innovation – no secret there. However, the company’s latest patent is promising something truly revolutionary, and immensely disruptive: A contact lens that records video. Imagine you’re at a festival, front row, recording your favorite DJs set from a true first person point of view. Better yet, imagine your favorite DJ wearing this for their headlining Tomorrowland set. The possibilities are endless.
The device is powered by your eye’s very movement via piezoelectric generators, and will be turned on and off with sensors that detect an intentional blink, differentiating them from involuntary blinking.
