As we head into the weekend, our attention shifts to music that will inevitably be smashing some dance floors. And if said smashers have some experimental flair, so much the better! Case in point: the latest tune from Yheti and his brother in bass, Toadface.
Coming fresh off their latest collaborative EP, Brain Mirror, ‘Serious’ is a seriously dope track. Sitting somewhere between half-time and the duo’s take on dubstep, it certainly doesn’t slack on the low-end factor. Bass spalls hit you like a truck then quickly clear the way for waves of rhythmic warbles. Both Yheti and Toadface have a signature, wonky style that truly shines here; while it won’t make your eyes bleed, the combination is extremely satisfying. Be sure your sub is turned up and you’re ready to move; sitting still isn’t an option here.
