A twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6, boasting 647 horsepower at 6,250 rpm and 550 pound-feet of torque at 5,900 rpm, will be the hallmark of Ford’s new 2017 GT supercar, and of course, deadmau5 already bought one.
With a top speed of 216 mph, the new GT is the fastest production car in Ford’s history, and in track testing, the GT outperformed both a McLaren 675LT as well as a Ferrari 458, clocking a time of 2:09.8 over the others’ 2:10.8 and 2:12.9, respectively. The new model also has a dedicated Track Mode, which lowers the beast 50 mm, restricts select air channels, and extends the rear wing for more downforce and braking power, amongst other things.
Only 250 of the vehicles will be produced per year, and production is taking place in Canada’s Multimatic in Markham, Ontario. It’s only a matter of time before we see some mischievous uploads from deadmau5 regarding his new toy…
