It’s no secret that “Light” is one of San Holo‘s biggest successes to date. In fact, the track has currently achieved over 24 million Spotify streams, which is more than his next two most popular originals combined.
In commemoration of this massive accomplishment, bitbird is releasing an absolutely monumental remix package for the track, featuring a slew of the label’s most aspiring talents, along with a handful of Monstercat artists.
Out of this group comes Grant, an American prodigy who earned a respectable reputation releasing future bass music under his former alias Grant Bowtie. Grant announced the Bowtie’s retirement last November with the release of the single “Wake Up,” which showcased Grant’s redeveloped skills in songwriting and sound design.
Though some great “Light” remixes have released in the last couple months, Grant’s takes the cake as the best of the bunch for me. As always, Grant’s musical uniqueness is unparalleled, with the producer combining his own brand of future bass with pop-punk-influenced chord progressions, vocal dialogue sampling and live instrumentation.
Simply enough, Grant knows how to leave listeners in absolute awe. This remix is no exception. Listen below:
