Dutch Monstercat phenom, David Lawson, under the colossal moniker known as WRLD, has just released his first single of 2017. His latest track “Hideaway” features Brisbane vocalist Savoi and is available for free courtesy of Heroic Recordings.
It’s never a dull moment with WRLD. The 19-year old has just wrapped up his first headlining tour in Australia and has been in the studio since to deliver us a synth-pop ballad titled “Hideaway. It includes all the stylistic hallmarks that you would come to expect from a stellar WRLD track: atmospheric intro synths, a pulsating drumline, floating euphoric synths during the drop and as always a funky bassline. Tie everything together and it will make you feel like you never left your formative years.

“The idea behind this track originally started out as a remix, it didn’t end up working out but I still liked the idea behind it so I got in touch with the Savoi guys and we managed to completely transform what I had into a whole new song with that retro 80s sound to create “Hideaway” while still retaining this idea I started out with.”
