In what might seem like an odd move from Marshmello, the masked producer has just released a music video for his track “Summer,” which came out all the way back in May of 2015.
Veering away from his usual crewneck garb, Mello puts on a collared shirt to go work at the skating rink where he meets a cute, bespectacled girl who’s crushing on him pretty hard. Said girl is played by Lele Pons, a Venezuelan internet personality known for her success on Vine. A cameo from Nathan Barnatt makes the interaction even more hilarious.
The more melodious tone of the song fits well with the emotional and somewhat innocent vibe of the video, making for an enjoyable watching experience, and a terrific reason to listen to “Summer” once again.
