Viceland has just announced its first-ever scripted series “What Would Diplo Do?” based on the life and times of the man himself. The comedy series is written, executive produced and starred by James Van Der Beek, who played Diplo in a June-released Mad Decent concert promo “Day In the Life of Diplo.”
“[The promo] was fun and that was it. I never thought it would lead to a series.”
The show has been described as “Louie meets WorldStar HipHop crossed with This Is Spinal Tap,” and plans to involve improvisation as they tell stories through the eyes of Diplo.
According to Deadline, the series will premiere later this year with six episodes.
