In a recent list compiled by Forbes Magazine, Calvin Harris and several other musicians were named as some of the highest paid Europeans in 2016. According to the findings, British boy band One Direction landed at the No. 1 spot with a collective $110 million in revenue, owing largely to their On The Road Again tour and endorsements with Pepsi and Colgate.
Professional footballer Cristiano Ronaldo placed second, earning $88 million during 2016, and was followed closely by Adele with $80.5 million. After tennis star Roger Federer ($68 million) came Calvin Harris, who saw earnings of $63 million for his 2016 year.
Later in the list were Sir Paul McCartney, and Irish band U2. Ex-girlfriend of Harris, Taylor Swift, would have placed first with her $170 million if it took into account artists outside of Europe.
