Deorro Finishes 2016 On A High Note With New Track “Tell Me Lies”

Deorro, founder and face of Panda Funk Music, is known primarily for his role in bringing Melbourne bounce to the masses and growing it exponentially. However, if you’ve been paying attention, there hasn’t been a whole lot of bounce in quite a while. Part of this is because its main elements have been absorbed by this new pseudo-Eastern style replete with vocal chops, popularized by Marshmello, DJ Snake and others. The other part seems to be that producers just aren’t interested in making it anymore.

Take this new track from Deorro featuring Lesly Roy, “Tell Me Lies.” When I first saw it, I’ll be honest and say I thought it was going to be a lackluster cover of “Little Lies” by Fleetwood Mac. What I got instead was a wholly refreshing and original track. Roy, whose voice brings about thoughts of early Ellie Goulding, crushes the vocal performance paired against staccato percussion and delicate piano notes.
