It’s been a crazy twelve months in dance music hasn’t it? First off, way back in March we watched The Chainsmokers start to conquer radio like we’ve never seen before in dance music. Through spring we watched as Calvin Harris dropped a brand new single that would go on to put him in some elite YouTube company, Flume put out our album of the year and Alan Walker came out of nowhere with one of the singles of the year – cross genre.
By the time we hit summer it was pretty obvious that we’d be in for a good year. A certain song about a rover dropped, DJ Snake finally dropped his debut album Encore, Skrillex teamed up with Rick Ross, and Porter Robinson and Madeon teamed up for the tour of the year with Shelter Live Tour. Fall was very much the same as The Weeknd and Daft Punk teamed up for two huge singles on The Weeknd’s new album, Dillon Francis dropped one of our favorite songs of the year as did Cashmere Cat.
And finally, we’re heading into the home stretch. Deadmau5 has finally dropped his new album, countless official remixes of “Let Me Love You” have come out while Whethan truly established himself as a growing force to be reckoned with thanks to a stunning Flux Pavillion collaboration.
Along the way, there have been plenty of other artists who have broken new ground thanks to some amazing new singles. Chet Porter, Robotaki, Steve James, Slushii, JOYRYDE, and more have all broken new ground as touring acts with some huge new singles that we’re happy to share with you all.
Stream all that and more as we look back on another huge year in dance music with our second annual yearly wrap-up featuring 60 songs to keep you entertained whether you’re throwing a house party with friends or embarking on a long vacation somewhere.
