The Chainsmokers and Halsey‘s hit single “Closer” has officially surpassed 1 billion collective Vevo views on its music video and lyric video.
The official music video, uploaded in October nearly three months after the song’s release, has reached a staggering 100 million views in just two months. Meanwhile, the lyric video, which was posted in July, currently sits at almost 910 million.
Factoring in views from such channels as Chill Nation and other independent uploaders, the play count on “Closer” reaches to towering heights. 
Peaking at the No. 1 spot on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart for 12 weeks, the track has inarguably been one of dance music’s most impactful tracks of the year.

The Chainsmokers follow Calvin Harris, who just recently notched his second video at 1 billion views this year.
