Space Jesus and Freddy Todd are steadily making waves with their collaborative project, Guccimen. To keep that hype rolling, they released their first EP under the moniker earlier today. It’s a self-titled number featuring three all-original tracks and it truly highlights the wild sonic brews this duo can cook up. These tunes are dark, psychedelic, and fearlessly experimental. Rapid-fire drum patterns and a heaping dose of low-end form the backbone of the Guccimen sound, but the real highlight here is sound design. These two can go from atmospheric and minimal to raw and maximal in the blink of an eye. Each track is a journey in and of itself, with no heed given to mainstream ideas of structure.
Best of all, you can download the Guccimen EP for free via their new website. Stream the release in full after the jump and grab a copy of your own if you like what you hear. Additionally, the duo has also announced a short run of winter tour dates today. Those have been posted below as well; try to make it out if you can!
