Disclaimer: this fully will be the last update of the year for 2016 as I’ll be spending what’s left of my pre-vacation time working on Your EDM’s Year(!!!) In Music, plus DSPs have more or less gone on vacation which marks a grinding pause to the music industry as a whole. With that aside, let’s enjoy our last week in music together!
First off, French producer Kidswaste kicks us off with a beautiful single “More Colors” which features one of the breakthrough indie electronic vocalists this year Chelsea Cutler. Following that, we’re led into one of my favorite remixes of the year, Just A Gent’s take on Illenium’s “Fortress.”
The A-listers also had a pretty good week themselves. Galantis popped out of nowhere with a new single “Pillow” while Oliver Heldens gave us yet another remix for The Chainsmokers to write about – at least it wasn’t “Closer!” Kaskade unleashed a brand new ‘V4’ version of most much-talked about collaboration with Deadmau5 and Skylar Grey, “Beneath With Me” while Flume officially puts out his Triple J cover of “My Boo.”
Finally, with the news that Flosstradamus has officially separated, I thought it best to end the year with one of their biggest singles ever – “Soundclash.”
That’s it for Week In Music for 2016 guys, hope you’ve enjoyed all these weekly Spotify playlists and I know you’ll definitely enjoy Year In Music once that drops!
