As the U.S. begins to freeze from the end-of-year winter chill, our warm and cozy Aussie brethren are enjoying the last weeks of 2016 in style. Triple J, one of the nation’s most forward-thinking radio platforms, is once again honoring the New Year with their own wrap-up of 2016 favorites. This week, they asked listeners to phone in their favorite albums of the year from any and all genres. Much to the suprirse of us here on the western hemisphere, however, it appears that Flume‘s longstanding reign at the top has finally been dismantled.

Violent Soho, a four-piece Austrailian alternative rock band, took listeners by storm this year with their edgy, punk sound and crisp instrumentation. They managed to gather enough votes from the Triple J crowd to take the No. 1 position for their 2016 album WACO, knocking Flume and Skin down to No. 2.

The Top 10 list also features albums from RUFUS, Radiohead and Frank Ocean, among other noteworthy works. Take a listen to the new kings of Australia’s scene below, and check further down for the complete list.

  1. Violent Soho – WACO
  2. Flume – Skin
