Following conflicting reports that suggested a possible Swedish House Mafia reunion could be in the works, ex-member Steve Angello has announced a solo album of his own set to release in 2017. During his final BBC 1 Residency show of the year, Angello concluded his two-hour mix by teasing fans with a sneak peek of his plans for the future. To cap things off, he even played a track off of the upcoming album, “Stay” featuring Saints of Valory, first uploaded back in January.
At the end of his two-hour electro and progressive house mix, Angello took to the mic to say goodbye to the BBC team and give a proper send-off to his listeners. In addition to revealing that his album is almost complete, he said that the next time we hear from him, there will be a lot to hear.
“I’m going to be taking a break from Radio 1 next, as I’ve got a pretty busy 2017 planned. This is probably a good time to announce that there’s a new album coming. It’s almost done. So next time you hear from me, it’s gonna be a lot of hearing.”
Listen to his complete mix below, and keep your eyes peeled for information on his upcoming album as we cross into 2017.
