Every year as Christmas draws near, a party in Tampa, Florida brings Halloween and Christmas cheer (rhyme definitely intentional). How, you might ask? Turns out a The Nightmare Before Christmas theme fits like a glove for a pre-Christmas holiday rave, as evidenced by the now-legendary, annual Hallucination Before Christmas holiday party in Tampa.
This year, HBC returns to Tampa on December 17 but will be held at The Castle for the very first time, a venue notable for its themed nights and deep house and techno events in its Dungeon room. The lineup is divided among three rooms: Christmas Town brings dubstep and heavier bass EDM with the likes of Nerd Rage and others, Halloween Town crosses over into all realms of EDM with HBC regular Tommie Sunshine, MONK and more and Oogie Boogie’s Lair in the Dungeon room, where local promoter Serious Soul both organizes shows and curates this year’s lineup for the 7th HBC running, brings deeper sides of electronic music such as an extended set from hometown hero DJ Three and All Day I Dream star Oona Dahl among other DJs.
The Castle will undergo a huge makeover for The Nightmare Before Christmas production, including lighting, costumes and lasers. Another perk of HBC is its food drive, which invites attendees to donate canned goods for the city’s Feeding America Tampa Bay. FATB works with over 600 local charities to provide food for the homeless and those in need. Not only is HBC a great party, it’s also a great opportunity to give back.
