In the last couple years future bass has turned from a relatively unknown movement into worldwide phenomenon thanks to producers like Grey, Flume and The Chainsmokers. Because of this, the market for the genre has grown tremendously, causing the genre to become fairly saturated and difficult for listeners to search for quality artists. If you know this struggle, it’s time for you to meet soupandreas, a New York City-based producer/recording artist capable of flipping even Porter Robinson & Madeon on their heads.
soupandreas is a bit of an outlier in the future bass scene, and luckily, he seems to be okay with that. For over a year, the producer made Heroic Recordings his home, but it didn’t take long for him to catch the eye of Monstercat, who were quick to pick up soupandreas’ flavorful “Over You,” which even featured his own vocals.
With “Tumbling Down” (soupandreas’ second release with the label), the versatile artist is out to impress. His blues-infused blend of future bass is once again met with soupandreas’ indie vocals, but with a bit of a twist. This time, inverness is coming along for the ride, adding his own style with a hint of dubstep to the already well-rounded production. “Tumbling Down” was an unlikely collaboration that turned into a future bass masterpiece, we couldn’t be happier with the result.
