Alex Pall of The Chainsmokers took to the duo’s Snapchat on Friday to discuss an extremely strange new trend among their fans. According to the video clips, their listeners somehow found the group’s Venmo account, a mobile app similar to Paypal that allows indirect transfers of money to and from accounts.
For the rest of the evening, The Chainsmokers received donations in varying amounts in exchange for some hilarious requests. $50 were given for them to throw a private party, someone requested from them $1.29 so that they could buy a Chainsmokers song on iTunes, and someone even gave $5 so that they and the duo could shotgun a beer at Ultra.

By the end of the video, Pall said that they’d received $600. He said that they’ll be matching the amount and donating it.
