If you’re in search of your weekend soundtrack, look no further. Shlump‘s new album is finally here and it is phenomenal.
We’ve been following this Northern California beat hustler for quite some time, so we can say with confidence that Like A Drug is some of his best work to date. The album features nine original tracks and it doesn’t slack on variety. Trap, dubstep, and even bass house are all represented, each with a touch of Shlump’s signature West Coast flair. Clattering percussion, wavering bass lines, and minimal synth arrangements dominate the drops; meanwhile, his ever-improving sound design makes for atmospheric intros and interludes throughout the release. While the core elements of his style remain unchanged, this young bass hustler’s willingness to experiment and drive to level up are what keep us coming back for more.
Like A Drug is available now via Wakaan, so check out the full stream after the jump and grab your own copy if you’re feeling the vibes.
