There’s a new track out from Yogi today that we’re absolutely in love with. Featuring AlunaGeorge & Less Is Moore, “Blow You Up” is a high-energy moombahton tune that is sure to inject some much-needed creativity and life into the genre.
All of that is well and good, but something that caught our eyes is “Less Is Moore” in the track credits. As far as we can tell, this is Less Is Moore’s first feature on any track ever – there’s very little social media for Less Is Moore, and there aren’t any other tracks under that name.
So who is Less Is Moore? Occam’s Razor, the principle that states “one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed,” leads us to a simple conclusion: Less Is Moore is Sonny Moore, aka Skrillex, founder of OWSLA.
There are more obvious signs, like Skrillex’s friendly relationship with Yogi and the track’s release on OWSLA, not to mention the distinct Skrillex-esque drum fills and notes throughout the track.
The only kink in the plan is this video from Less Is Moore’s Facebook page: “were not skrillex.” Well yeah… but Axwell said that one tweet wasn’t real, and we don’t believe him either. The rumor also seems to have been “debunked” according to this reddit user who claims to have spoken to someone who works at OWSLA, but there’s no way to verify that, either.
UPDATE: OWSLA’s team has reached out to confirm “he’s a young producer that Yogi is taking under his wing.”
No matter who or what Less Is Moore is, we’re curious to see what comes next from the project. Because if the first appearance is a collaboration with Yogi and AlunaGeorge on OWSLA, there’s only up from there.
