Zeds Dead Makes Nebbra’s ‘You’ the Debut Release on New Record Label

Yes, you read that correctly: the one and only Zeds Dead have started their own record label. It was only a matter of time, as the duo’s unique style coupled with their years of experience make them excellent taste-makers. Appropriately enough, the new imprint is called Deadbeats.

Yesterday, the new label revealed its debut release: You, a brilliant four-track EP from Nebbra. Hailing from France, the young music maker’s style is a sonic summation of what Deadbeats is all about. Nebbra explores a variety of styles throughout the release, fearlessly blending elements of R&B and pop music with future bass, trap, and dubstep. The result is an eclectic yet cohesive sound that keeps us coming back for more. Tunes like ‘You’ and ‘Fire Away’ (featuring Mike Sabbath and Oktavian, respectively) feature lush sound design and emotional vocals. Meanwhile, ‘Gladiator’ stands out as raw and hard hitting, putting us in mind of superstar producers like RL Grime and What So Not. ‘On the Moon’ closes out the release, perfectly balancing the heavy with the delicate.

Nebbra easily shouldered the weight of being Deadbeats’ first solo release and You is the undeniable proof. Check out the full stream after the jump and be sure to purchase a copy for yourself if you’re feeling the vibes!
