As the title indicates, this EP Bumps. Created by New York’s underground house champion, Codes, this EP has every infectious groove you ever dreamed of. The EP was released on Treasure Finger’s one-year-old Psycho Disco! label.
In case you weren’t aware of Codes, or needed a refresher, let me break down some of his accomplishments for you. He’s remixed tracks alongside A-trak and DJ Craze, both incredible turntableists and DJs. He has had his tracks released on Ultra, Main Course, SMOG, Central Station, and Plant. With three tracks, two originals and one remixed track, this EP offers grooves, bass, melodies, and vibes that are unforgettable. “Bumps,” “Boom Bapps,” and “Bumps (The Homie Remix)” are the three stellar tracks on this EP. Each offers its own place in the EP, with “Bumps” being on the groove-oriented deeper side and “Boom Bapps” having a little more melody to it. The Homie slays his remix of “Bumps,” transforming the tune into a breakbeat, house tempo groove.
