Everything You Want To Know About Apple’s New MacBook Pro

As part of Apple’s keynote presentation today, the tech behemoth has unveiled its new line of MacBook Pros, and the iconic laptop has received some remarkable upgrades.

A larger track pad, improved retina display, slimmer casing, more efficient keys, and a retina display multi-touch bar with fingerprint ID are among the new additions for this year’s model.

Of course, all the hype is around the new Touch Bar, and it happens to take the place of the function keys which we’ve grown so close with since time immemorial. The Touch Bar even replaces the Escape key, which might cause problems down the road if the software happens to crash and you desperately miss that analog input.

And say goodbye to your beloved USB and HDMI ports, instead, MacBook Pro has cleaned up its design even further, replacing them with four Thunderbolt 3 ports which use the USB-C shape. Fortunately, they’ve kept the now-jurassic 3.5 mm headphone jack, so you won’t have to go buying another dongle just yet.

The new MacBook Pro will be available in 13-inch and 15-inch options, in either silver or space grey colorways, with the innovative Touch Bar as an option on the 13-inch, and standard with the 15 inch. The new models start at $1499 for the base 13 inch, and the Touch Bar version starting at $1799.

Check out Apple’s new advertisement below, and let Chief Design Officer Jon Ive’s soothing monologue whittle you down to happy tears.
