Cavalier has just teamed up with EZRA and Oshi as a production trio for the very first, releasing a fiery original track called “Next Up.” Featuring a healthy serving of stylistic influence from all three of the contributors, the song comes as a culmination of a very prolific and evolutionary year for everyone involved.
It begins with gentle piano phrases and piercing stabs of synth before a laid back percussion arrangement reveals the tempo. A sultry sub bass and jazz-influenced top line soon take over the space while atmospheric pads create an expanded sense of space. The elements are swapped in and out and played with over the course of the track, until the vibe is abandoned for a darker and more bass-heavy ending section.
