Taylor Swift Describes Her Feeling Of Violation After Alleged DJ Groping Lawsuit

Back in 2013, a backstage meet-and-greet between Taylor Swift and Denver radio DJ David Mueller ended in an alleged groping while they took a photo together. Despite Swift keeping the photo evidence sealed away, the transcript from her July deposition was released to the public this week after a judge decided that no other evidence would be withheld.

In the deposition, Swift described the feelings of violation and shock she felt during the alleged 2013 incident.

“Right as the moment came for us to pose for the photo, he took his hand and put it up my dress and grabbed onto my ass cheek and no matter how much I scooted over it was still there. It was completely intentional, I’ve never been so sure of anything in my life.”

Two days after the meet-and-greet, Mueller was fired from his job at KYGO radio. Two years later, in 2015, Mueller sued Swift, saying that her allegations were false and that he lost his job as a result. He sued for her slander, and said that it was in fact his boss who had touched Swift. She countersued Mueller for battery and assault, telling her fans that any money she won would be donated to charities that protect women from sexual assault.

“I remember being frantic, distressed, feeling violated in a way I had never experienced before. A meet-and-greet is supposed to be a situation where you’re thanking people for coming, you’re supposed to be welcoming people into your home, which is the arena for that day, and for someone to violate that hospitality in that way, I was completely stunned.”

The filing of the deposition was done in support of Swift’s attempt to win the case before it goes to trial.
