Watch Behind-The-Scenes Of Porter Robinson & Madeon’s “Shelter” Short Film

Earlier this week, Porter Robinson and Madeon unveiled an unprecedented animated short film to accompany the release of their highly celebrated collaboration, “Shelter.” Featuring a story full of beauty and sadness, the animation by Japan’s A-1 Studios came as the perfect side dish to the song’s soaring melodies.

Today, a short behind-the-scenes look at the process behind the creation of the film was released on Porter’s Facebook. It takes a look at the budding relationship between the studio responsible for the animation and Porter himself, who they say took hold of them when he expressed his love for Japanese anime.

“Shelter tells the story of Rin, a 17-year-old girl who lives her life inside of a futuristic simulation completely by herself in infinite, beautiful loneliness. Each day, Rin awakens in virtual reality and uses a tablet which controls the simulation to create a new, different, beautiful world for herself. Until one day, everything changes, and Rin comes to learn the true origins behind her life inside a simulation.”

Check out the full behind-the-scenes clip below, and revisit the film itself further down.
